Greetings all,
I have been operating in the New Balance 1220 series for 10 years now. The 1226's are rediculously comfortable and required no break-in at all. I enjoy operating in them way more than any of the others I have put to use. Bottom line, get these and you will not regret it. Keep in mind this, they are meant for heavier (200+ for men) runners and they are for slight overpronators. God bless. U.S. Marine

I ordered this shoe just after getting returned two pairs of NB 1906 which is a 200 dollar shoe retail. Go check zappos. This shoe is every single bit as fine as those shoes with superior cushioning and better arch and pronation assistance for half the price tag. This is the operating shoe deal of the year. The 1227 likely due out by summer of 2011 but who cares and it will not be at this price. I have some Brooks Beast which is very cushioned and expected a massive let down with these. I was particularly surprised with the high quality really feel and fit of these shoes. These will not be returned. I also returned the Asics gel Kinetics 3 so I have one thing to compare shoes with. Also have nike shox with forefoot air zoom and am incredibly pleased with these but they are wearing out and I required to reload. I'm a stickler for forefoot cushioning and shock resilience as nicely as some power return. I am a large guy 240 lbs and the testimonials about lack of forefoot cushioning are bunk. I got these in width EE and this was best while usual D is what I typically get. I do not like tight fitting operating shoes but completely will not tolerate heel slip. So far so excellent. Will give update when I put a great deal more mileage on these puppies.
